Background
borne evolved from a desire to provide a new sense of individuality to clothing and focus on the details that make a design unique: "On the journey from idea through production each of our pieces is nurtured with love and passion. Borne clothes are very personal items that you feel innately comfortable in and can be worn anytime, anywhere." The thinking goes like this: borne believes garments have soul.
Inspiration
borne's second collection for AW11 is entitled: 'First Flight'. Its inspiration is taken from the beauty of birds in flight. Borne's studio was full of imagery of birds taking to the wing.
To those images were added wonderful colour and texture - forest greens, charcoal greys, natural beiges, mint and navy blue/black in a selection of sandwashed silks, mohair mixes, jerseys, washed cottons and luxurious italian wools.
