Background
Fanny and Jessy are a design duo who originate from Somerset and graduated from the London College Of Fashion in 2009. With their acquired skills and knowledge and through their experience of working with designers such as PPQ and Jean Charles de Castelbajac they decided to launch their own label.
Their clothes have been worn by performers such as Lady Gaga, Jessie J, Kele Okereke (Bloc Party) and Saint Saviour of Groove Armada. They have a great press following and have been featured in international publications including Vogue Italia, Vogue Indai, Grazia, Dazed Japan, Tank and Vice.
Inspiration
Initially inspired by the Hunterian museum situated in the London College of Surgery Fanny and Jessy started delving into anatomy and dissection. They have used these inspirations for texture and fabric but also in the idea of layers of the body and seam lines that run through the collection: "Not only does this idea of the discovery influence us, it's the curiosity of quintessential Englishness that is something we are both intrigued by. We have an affiliation to old/traditional beautiful Englishness and this kind of ancient human research is all incredibly influential."
