Background
Louise Dungate lives in Surrey where she designs and makes hand-knitted accessories with luxury wools. Her first knitted collection launched in the winter of 2009, when the weather started to get rather chilly (even for England) and her friends desperately needed some good knitwear.
Louise has long been inspired by knitting, and the history and craft of knitting. Both her grandmother Nancy and her great aunt Betty learnt to knit at school, at the age of 4. She loves the stories of how they would knit socks for the soldiers, and on Fridays at school they would have to bring something in from home to mend. Often it would be a holey jumper, belonging to Louise's great grandfather.
Louise strongly believes in ethical and eco-friendly fashion. She knits with natural yarns, and uses recycled materials/packaging wherever possible.
