Background

JENA.THEO was founded in February 2009 by Jenny Holmes and Dimitris Theocharidis who were inspired to collaborate by a mutual respect and admiration for each others styles and saw that by working together they could create a truly unique collection. Jenny works on voluminous and challenging pattern cutting whilst Dimitris focuses on the silhouette and delicate tailoring. The two won the coveted Fashion Fringe at Covent Garden award in 2009, previewing their first collection for AW10.

Inspiration

Jena Theo's AW11 collection is entitled 'Valkyrie'. In Norse mythology Valkyrie is one of a host of female figures who decide who will die in battle. They also appear as lovers of heroes and other mortals.

The catwalk models blazed their way down the aisle with Zorro-style dark makeup and loose, messy hair, perfect rockchicks to suit the clothes. There were superskinny trousers, layered, loose silk tops and flashes of leather and knitwear. "The biggest statement piece was no doubt the oversized quilted bodywarmer with geometric shapes which looked like a big warm hug." (Alexloves.com)
