Background
Olivia Rubin launched her first womenswear line after graduating from Central St Martins College. Her debut collection won immediate acclaim from the press who declared her printed designs to be one of the 'standout collections'.
Rubin previously worked for Alexander McQueen and John Galliano. AW09 saw Rubin's first highly anticipated catwalk show in association with On/Off. The label's collections focus on Rubin's signature graphic prints (including the renowned brick print) and are combined with a refined yet feminine silhouette. Rubin is a regular presence in leading British fashion titles including Grazia, InStyle, The Times and Vogue and is continuously sought out by an increasing queue of celebrities.
Inspiration
"Most of my research begins with art of some sort. The Spring/Summer 2011 collection is based upon Alexander Calder's mobiles but then my brick print idea just came from wolf-whistling builders."
How does it make you feel?
Sassy. Sussed. In the know. Shrug on a Rubin and walk tall with a knowing smile.
