Emma Paton at Yonghao Xie

@emmapaton_ wears YBD's Cawley Tallulah Skirt
What I wore…
I wore the Cawley TALLULAH SILK SKIRT in GOLD because as soon as I saw it I knew it was one of those showstopper but versatile pieces that can be worn so many ways in my wardrobe! I wore it back with a mesh leopard top from Ganni, a vintage Celine blazer bought pre-loved from Manifesto Woman and some old & Other Stories strappy heels. I love the idea of wearing it back with a navy or stripy knit, shirt and trainers. I can also envision myself at Christmas dancing around under the tree in it!!!
I was also excited to see that myself and Caroline (@carolinestylehacks ) had co-ordinated well for LFW when we met up and she had her equally shimmery Anciela suit on!
What I saw…
The Yonghao Xie Show at Fashion Scout, New Inn Yard, Shoreditch. It actually started on time which is unheard of for a fashion show and lasted around 10 minutes. We dashed in fashionably late after a lunch at Pizza East, luckily we still had somewhere to sit!!
Yonghao Xie is a Chinese born, Antwerp based designer and recently graduated. The theme of the collection was ‘Into a better world’ and his aesthetic is described as ‘darkness, authentic, contemporary’. He aims to make people pay more attention to environmental protection and build a utopia of a better living space.
What I thought…
Firstly the thing I loved most about the show was the colours - strong blues, pinks, turquoises, bright orange, yellow and red. He used a lot of dip dye effects, texture and draping. My favourite pieces were the leopard print trousers and the quilted dip dye coat with blue ties at the sleeves. The flare trousers were definitely show stopper pieces, great for men and women!
There was definitely a darker edged feel to the collection, the masks were quite eery and futuristic feeling. There were plenty of wearable pieces and this is definitely someone to watch! I really enjoyed the show, it was just over too quickly!!
I’m super excited to be a YBD finder and support British fashion.
