PATCHWORK LACE TOP. Off-White by Phoebe English. This series of LACE garments are made from commercial lace off-cuts that are sourced from a range of UK based bridal design companies. There are currently little to no recycling streams for these fabric scraps in the UK and Phoebe English hope to offer an alternative life cycle for what they see as precious textile resources. They repurpose these materials into new patchworked fabrics, whilst utilising as much of the off-cuts as possible to reduce any further waste. The new fabric is composed of three layers: one top layer made of triangles using the smallest off-cuts and two layers made of rectangles using the larger off-cuts. This technique gives the illusion of a multilayered lace where the various lace designs are interrelated through the transparency of the material. This top features a small V-neck with grown on sleeves and a boxy fit. Comprises: reclaimed lace offcuts, reconstructed fabrics, all created via a local micro factory.
